Mahabalipuram/Kanchipuram
This week
end we (Dounia, Emeline and I) went to Mahabalipuram. We left Pondi early Saturday
morning and made 2 hours of bus to finally arrive in little city next to the
sea. Mahabalipuram is a tourist city, very knowledge for its temples but also
its sea and fish restaurant. So we visited a lot of very beautiful temple, with
a lot of sculpture and for the majority well preserved.
For the lunch we eat in a restaurant in front of the sea. It is very fun in India because everything can be negotiated. So we negotiate the price of the menu because the basic fish made 6 cm.. the meal was good but even for the bill we were obliged to check.. and of course it was 440 and no 470.. (sorry I forgot to take picture of fish.. I thought about this after..)
After we
went to negotiate a room and after several which was “under construction” we find a free guesthouse (nobody to welcome.. only a men who give you the keys! )
which had a sea view!! It was beautifull and not very expensive (600 rs for
3)!!
The day after, we woke up early again and went to kanchipuram which is a city of old king in India, its other name is gold city, but it was less beautiful and comfortable than Mahabalipuram but we saw some nice temples!
At 4h,
we came back to pondi and the bus was full, then we stay stand during 3h.. good
week end but very tiring!
